About Us
Our journey began in 1973 when SIU started serving students at military bases. Today, we extend our reach to military bases and community colleges across the U.S. and offer dozens of online programs to cater to the growing demand for flexible education options. We take great pride in the achievements of the thousands of graduates who have joined our Alumni family through our distance education pathways. Our students embody the Saluki spirit through their dedication and determination, many of whom are working professionals, veterans, or actively serving in the military while pursuing their degrees.
The mission of SIU Extended Campus is to position SIU as a leader in high-quality distance education, enhancing the accessibility of higher education through innovative, technology-enhanced instruction. We believe in the transformative power of education and are committed to providing students with not only high-quality education options but also the support and resources they need to succeed.
